Maghalie Rochette (Canyon Collective) cemented her lead within the US Cyclocross Series with the C2 victory at Appeal Metropolis Cross on Sunday. It was a sweep of the primary six races within the USCX for the Canadian, with two races remaining at Actually Rad Pageant of Cyclocross on the finish of October.
It was a repeat from the C1 race on Saturday at Druid Hill Park in Baltimore, Maryland, as Rochette and Sidney McGill (Cervélo/OrangeLiving) rode tandem on the early laps. Rochette powered throughout the hard-packed course beneath sizzling, sunny skies for one more solo victory. McGill completed 57 seconds again in second place.
Groove Off-Highway Racing teammates Caroline Mani and Lauren Zoerner pursued within the chase, with Mani getting separation on the ultimate lap for the ultimate podium spot, 1:35 behind Rochette.
“Felt tremendous good on the bike.
